Macth Repor Vs Thackley

A tense nervous game today for the not so impartial travelling support. Thackley have certainly built on their success towards the end of last season and have made a few good additions to their squad. They look a very competent outfit and will be there or there abouts next April.

Carl Cook had a great game today in the centre of defence and Mark Barber didn't have a bad game either. Unfortunately for Danby, he was substituted early on as he was having a torrid time against their flying left winger. Alex Rhodes was dropped back to fill in and Steve Lyons came on to steady he ship in a period where Thackley had most of the play. They scored a quality goal with a 20+ yarder that gave Wilber no chance.
We equalised through Wayne Wallace who could have had a hatrick on another day.
I think at the end of the day the scoreline was about right and we deserved a point. Talking with my fellow travellers, we think that not many teams will get much at Thackley this season.
